Understanding the Sinkhole Issue
In a recent case, we were called to address multiple sinkholes that had formed in a backyard. Upon investigation, we discovered an underground stormwater culvert located just five feet below the surface, which had developed several leaks. Each sinkhole was directly above a leak in the culvert, causing soil erosion during rain events.

During heavy rainfall, water would wash away the soil surrounding the leaks, leading to the formation of sinkholes above. To resolve the issue, we employed a strategic approach by deep injecting our specialized grout through a 1/2 inch pipe from the surface directly into the problem area at the culvert. This method effectively sealed off the leaks, preventing further erosion and stabilizing the ground above.
